How to overcome educational challenges: actions of the expert group
The NGO “Responsible Citizens” has taken another decisive step in supporting Ukrainian education. The second meeting of the expert working group of educators, organized by our organization, launched the development of innovative methodological recommendations to address educational losses accumulated over three years of war. The conflict has repeatedly disrupted the educational process, leaving thousands of children in conditions of psychological stress, relocations, blackouts, and other challenges.
Why is this important?
Educational losses, which began during the pandemic, have worsened due to the war, especially for over 200,000 children in Ukraine’s eastern regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv oblasts. For students with special educational needs, the situation has been particularly challenging. “Responsible Citizens” has brought together leading education experts to focus on key areas:
🔹 Recovering educational losses through AI integration.
🔹 Incorporating AI into the learning process for children with special educational needs.
🔹 Social and educational adaptation of children with disabilities.
🔹 Psycho-emotional support for teachers.
🔹 Developing soft skills in non-formal education.
🔹 Programs for parental engagement.
“We place a strong emphasis on adaptive methodologies that will help students not only catch up with the curriculum but also gain essential future skills. We are also working on STEM and AI technologies, which open new opportunities in education,” says Olena Bieloliptseva, Head of Educational Projects at “Responsible Citizens.”
What’s next?
The working group meets weekly, with final results expected in June 2025. The outcomes will include:
✅ Methodological recommendations for educational disciplines.
✅ Training programs for teachers and students.
✅ Strategic plans for further implementation of the group’s developments in educational institutions.
“Our experts are leaders in their fields, with years of experience in academic research, participation in international educational forums, and collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Their voluntary participation in this project highlights their dedication to the future of Ukrainian children. This joint effort is a key step toward systemic changes and a new era in Ukrainian education,” emphasizes Olena Bieloliptseva.
“Responsible Citizens” continues working to create a sustainable educational environment for Ukraine’s next generation. Our initiatives are already delivering real results, helping children and educators overcome the challenges of war.
