Eight out of ten people who have already received cash assistance are residents of frontline communities
21% of participants in the cash assistance program are internally displaced persons who left occupied areas of the region.
From April to July, 3,044 people received humanitarian assistance from “Responsible Citizens” in Donetsk region. Registration for cash assistance took place in Dobropillia, Mykolaivka, Yarova, Shylivka, Kramatorsk, and Kryvorizhzhia.
Thanks to the project, 391 children have already received support from “Responsible Citizens” in Donetsk region.
Supporting children in communities that live under constant risk is about restoring a sense of safety and creating a minimal space of stability. Many of these children live with chronic illnesses, have lost peer connections, suffer from anxiety, or have experienced loss.
We work in communities where access to basic services remains limited. In such conditions, cash assistance is the most flexible and humane support tool. People themselves determine what is most important: buying medicine, paying for diagnostics, supporting children, or relocating to a safer place.
The project is implemented by the NGO “Responsible Citizens” in partnership with Mercy Corps and with financial support from the UK government.
