Cash Assistance for Evacuees: More Than 10,000 People Supported at the Pavlohrad and Lozova Transit Centers
The NGO “Responsible Citizens,” in partnership with Mercy Corps Ukraine and with the support of the UK Government, provided cash assistance totaling more than UAH 109 million, helping to stabilize the situation of evacuees during the critical period following evacuation.
From September to December 2025, the transit centers in Pavlohrad and Lozova became vital sources of support for thousands of people who fled active hostilities or temporarily occupied territories. During this period, the NGO “Responsible Citizens,” in partnership with Mercy Corps Ukraine and with the support of the UK Government, promptly delivered cash assistance to more than 10,000 people, totaling over UAH 109 million, helping them stabilize their situation in the immediate aftermath of evacuation.
Recent trends indicate a growing need for such support: most people arrive as families, often from several communities at once, and without any resources to start life in a new place. Cash assistance allows people to quickly address urgent needs — pay for housing, purchase medicines, or cover relocation logistics.
Within a short period, 4,628 people in Pavlohrad received assistance totaling nearly UAH 50 million (UAH 10,800 per person), while 5,545 people were supported in Lozova. The majority are residents of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions who were left with almost nothing.
The project results demonstrate the effectiveness and importance of targeted humanitarian assistance in the first days after evacuation and highlight the need to continue such initiatives in regions where people face crisis situations.
