Responsible Citizens NGO has joined the Civil Society Collaboration Platform for the Best Interests of the Child — a space for cooperation between international, national and local organizations established to implement the Strategy to Ensure Every Child’s Right to Grow Up in a Family Environment in Ukraine (2024–2028).

This day is an opportunity to thank those who support people in difficult life circumstances every single day. Social workers step in when all other resources are exhausted — when a person has lost their home, loved ones, job, or sense of safety.

In the frontline communities of Donetsk region, the team of Responsible Citizens NGO is registering residents for multi-purpose cash assistance. This initiative is part of the project “Local, inclusive, and multisectoral emergency aid for war-affected people in Ukraine”, implemented in partnership with Mercy Corps and financially supported by the UK government.

Within the framework of the project, the NGO “Responsible Citizens” has launched cooperation with Acted, an international humanitarian organization that joined the initiative to strengthen support for households most affected by the war. The project is implemented with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF).

In Pivdenne, Kharkiv region, even in difficult times, the community finds the strength to celebrate joy. During the City Day celebrations, we made sure that even the youngest residents felt cared for, valued, and protected.

The teams of the NGO Responsible Citizens work in areas where the social burden increases every day. This is where Child-Friendly Spaces and mobile psychosocial support teams operate most actively. In the first half of 2025, nearly 10,000 children and their families received professional support.

Genuine motivation is only the first step. Real responsibility begins with understanding how to provide assistance in a way that is safe — for children, for families, and for everyone involved This was the focus of the Safeguarding training attended by representatives of Responsible Citizens NGO, supported by UNICEF Ukraine.
