Support Nearby — from Donetsk region to a New Community
A mobile team from Dobropillia, Donetsk region, continues to help internally displaced people even after they move to safer communities.
This time our team worked with a large family from Bilozerke who found shelter in the Kamianske community in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
After relocation, the children showed signs of severe anxiety — they were withdrawn and exhausted. The psychologist held individual sessions with each child to help them adapt and regain a sense of safety.
Special attention was paid to the mother — the support helped her stabilize her emotional state and restore her inner resources.
The social worker of the mobile team helped the family with practical matters: document processing, searching for social and educational services, and financial support.
The team of NGO Responsible Citizens quickly integrated into the new place and started supporting all families who need similar integration and adaptation. Over the past month, psychosocial support was provided to more than 50 families with children.
We are nearby not only when people decide to leave but also when they begin a new life in the host community.
Currently, there are two Child-Friendly Spaces and three mobile teams operating in Kamianske, providing comprehensive support to families with children.
The work is carried out within the UNICEF Ukraine project “Strengthening the capacity of communities to provide essential protection and resilience services in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions,” implemented by NGO Responsible Citizens with the support of the Government of the United States of America.

Charity festival “Dnipro. All Our Own”: Uniting to support children and families in DniproDnipro hosted the charity festival “Dnipro. All Our Own,” which brought together civil society organizations, charitable foundations, entrepreneurs, and city residents around an important goal — helping internally displaced persons (IDPs) and families that include people with disabilities. The festival fostered an atmosphere of support, mutual assistance, and hope, which is especially important in today’s circumstances.
