Warm clothing for children from Donetsk and Kharkiv regions: “SOS Children. Emergency Aid Program”
Warm clothing for children from the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions was distributed through a cooperative program between Responsible Citizens and SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine.
Thanks to the “SOS Children. Emergency Aid Program” by Responsible Citizens and SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine, 52 families have received warm clothing for their children. This project was implemented across the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, including de-occupied territories. In addition, the program includes the distribution of food, hygiene, and medical kits.
However, providing warm clothing was prioritized, as winter promises to be challenging, especially in regions where active hostilities continue.
“I can hardly believe how lucky we are to receive such help with clothing for my child. Children’s clothing is always a crucial issue for every mother, and especially in such difficult times. This is incredible and truly substantial help,” writes Kateryna, the mother of a young boy from Nova Vodolaha in the Kharkiv region.
Despite logistical challenges due to power outages and limited postal service in some areas, we were able to deliver clothing to small towns and villages in the Izyum, Chuhuiv, Krasnohrad, Lozova, and Bohodukhiv districts of the Kharkiv region and to Kharkiv itself. In the Donetsk region, families in 14 settlements were reached—from Sloviansk and Kramatorsk to Kurakhove and Ukrainsk.
Parents could independently select the necessary clothing for their children from the website of our partner online store, choosing sizes and colors of items valued at around 2,000 UAH. In total, 79 children have now received packages with warm, beautiful gifts.
