“Black Days of Donbas” Project
Responsible Citizens has initiated the “Black Days of Donbas” project.
The “Black Days of Donbas” is an initiative created to honor the memory of civilians who lost their lives due to the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The project recounts 16 incidents of mass civilian casualties resulting from the use of indiscriminate weaponry. These tragic events inspired the project’s name. The organizers are advocating for an official day of remembrance in Ukraine to honor civilians killed in the Donbas conflict, and a petition has been created for President Volodymyr Zelensky in support of this cause.
The petition and project were initiated by:
- Enrique Menendez, Head of the Donbas Regional Policy Institute NGO
- Olga Kosse, Head of the Responsible Citizens NGO
The complete list of petition signatories is available on the MANIFEST page. We invite NGOs, public figures, local government representatives—especially those from areas impacted by the conflict—and concerned individuals to support this initiative and sign the petition.
Public hearings are planned as part of the initiative. For questions or suggestions, please contact the organizers via email or through the feedback form on the website: http://donbassblackdays.org.ua. This initiative is not an attempt to accuse any party in the conflict of intentional civilian casualties. We believe that, in the future, each case will be examined by an international court and those responsible will be held accountable.
