Project “Expanding Access to Quality Education and Child Protection Services for Conflict-Affected Children and Their Families”
Responsible Citizens is implementing the project “Expanding Access to Quality Education and Child Protection Services for Conflict-Affected Children and Their Families” in partnership with Save the Children and with financial support from the European Union.
The project aims to expand access to quality education, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and comprehensive child protection services for children affected by the war. Activities are implemented in the Berestyn, Kehychivka, Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, and Liubotyn communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
Within the project, the Responsible Citizens team provides:
- support for children in addressing learning loss;
- capacity strengthening for teachers, including the implementation of effective approaches to learning recovery and child protection;
- mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for children and families through Child-Friendly Spaces and mobile teams;
- implementation of child protection, resilience-building, and positive parenting programmes;
- engagement with families and communities to create a safe environment where every child can learn, develop, and access the support they need.
The project will reach more than 2,000 children, parents, teachers, and other members of the education community.
The project’s objective is to strengthen children’s access to safe and quality learning environments, enhance the capacity of teachers and local communities, and provide integrated support to families affected by the war.
