Acquisition of вasic medication kits for residents of Staroihnatіvka village

Getting to Staroihnatіvka is very difficult. The roads are in terrible condition! Moreover, this village is located on the front line, with Novohryhorivka being the closest settlement. For these reasons, humanitarian aid arrives very rarely. The situation here is quite dire, and it’s not just about the destruction caused by the war.

The residents have made efforts to ensure that the aid coming to Staroihnatіvka reaches the “right” hands. There’s no room for extravagance. They have allocated a room and keep all records on paper. Who received what? What was received? What are the needs?

Today, approximately 1,500 people live in Staroihnatіvka and Novohryhorivka, including:

  • 109 people with disabilities
  • 25 single mothers
  • 5 large families
  • 32 internally displaced persons
  • 385 pensioners over the age of 65

For all these people, there is NOT A SINGLE pharmacy. To get medical supplies, they have to travel to Volnovakha, which is 35 km of rough road away. There is one bus at 6:00 AM from Staroihnatіvka, returning at 12:00 PM from Volnovakha. Sunday is a day off.

Residents are asking for first aid kits with the most basic medications: bandages, “zelenka” (brilliant green), validol, valerian, and analgin.

Such a first aid kit costs no more than 60 UAH, but about 200 are needed. We are asking for your help. The total amount needed is 12,000 UAH.

As of September 8, 2016, we are currently short 4,000 UAH for the purchase of all the kits. However, the funds collected are enough for 100 kits for the residents of Staroihnatіvka. They have been slightly supplemented, and now each kit also includes ibuprofen, cotton, hydrogen peroxide, and activated charcoal.

As of September 29, 2016, we successfully delivered 100 first aid kits, 14 stationery sets, 3 large boxes of essential items, and diapers to Staroihnatіvka. This delivery will greatly assist the residents who have been enduring difficult circumstances.

Our local activist, Marina Yanovna, provided significant assistance during the distribution of the kits.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in raising funds for the first aid kits, as well as to the OKKO company for organizing the donation drive for essential items.
