Expanding competencies for effective child protection
Children should grow up in an environment where their rights are protected, and adults know how to prevent any threats. That is why the team of the NGO Responsible Citizens continues to enhance its knowledge and approaches to child protection.
Regional coordinator Oksana Ivatina completed training under the certified program Creating a Safe Environment for Children: Safety Policy in Organizations, organized by the Ukrainian Child Rights Network and the Center for Human Dignity at the Ukrainian Catholic University.
This training provided deeper insights into building child-friendly spaces and implementing safeguarding policies as a protection mechanism. Participants learned how to identify risks of violence, analyze threats, and develop effective measures to mitigate them.
“Children trust us with their stories and turn to us for help. It is important not only to listen but to know how to respond correctly. Our mission is to create a safe environment where every child feels protected,” says Oksana Ivatina.
The NGO Responsible Citizens continues to integrate child protection principles into its programs so that every child feels safe. Because ensuring children’s safety is our responsibility.
