Project “Charity Game Nights”

As part of the youth activity development program, the Responsible Citizens NGO conducts charity game nights in the city of Kramatorsk.

Several times a month, board game enthusiasts gather to play familiar games and explore new ones. At the charity game nights, we break the stereotype that board games are just “Lotto” and “Monopoly”! Favorites among participants include “Alias,” “Dixit,” “Swintus,” and “Saboteur,” but for strategy fans, we also have “Settlers of Catan,” “Expedition,” “Evacuation,” and many more. Sometimes, when we want to add intrigue, we host “Mafia” nights—a role-playing game with a detective storyline.

Anyone can participate in the game nights; the events are free, but they are held for charitable purposes. Each participant can donate any amount to help our beneficiary families with children diagnosed with severe chronic illnesses. All funds raised go towards purchasing medical supplies, covering treatment costs, and supporting children’s rehabilitation. We also organize outreach game nights for children and youth in the Donetsk region, often in frontline settlements where there are very few creative and developmental activities. These game nights often lead to continued engagement without us. For example, after our visit to the village of Maximilianivka, the school purchased games for children for extracurricular activities. The game night is a cozy evening in the company of cheerful people, where not only do we enjoy our time, but we also support families in difficult situations.
