Inclusive Support Specialists Learn Modern Methods of Working with Children
In Zaporizhzhia, specialists from the “Responsible Citizens” NGO took part in a training on modern methods of corrective and developmental work. The training helped psychologists, speech therapists and special education specialists expand their practical tools for working with children with special educational needs.
The training was held with the support of Save the Children and with the involvement and assistance of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Resource Centre for Inclusive Education Support.
Psychologists, speech therapists and special education specialists learned practical methods, including:
- art therapy;
- neuropsychological exercises;
- sensory stimulation;
- adapting tasks and materials to the needs of different children.
These tools help specialists update their approaches to their work and take children’s needs into account during sessions.
In Zaporizhzhia region, our specialists help children with special educational needs develop skills, overcome difficulties and become more independent every day. That is why it is also important to support the specialists themselves — by providing them with modern tools and opportunities for professional development. Strengthening those who support children every day is an important part of our work.
