The Selection Committee Selected Projects to Receive Mini-Grants in Communities of the Kharkiv Region
The selection committee has identified 25 projects that will receive mini-grants in communities of Kharkiv region.
These initiatives will be implemented in the Velykoburluk, Vilkhuvatka, Zolochiv, and Shevchenkove communities, where local initiative groups proposed solutions to address urgent and important needs of residents.
The project is implemented by the NGO Responsible Citizens in partnership with JERU – Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine (Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide) with financial support from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The initiatives are primarily aimed at addressing the most urgent needs of local communities. In particular, they include:
✔️ arranging shelters and Points of Invincibility, which is critically important in frontline communities where residents face constant shelling;
✔️ installation and rehabilitation of wells and boreholes in areas where access to water is limited;
✔️ alternative energy solutions that will support residents during electricity outages.
The selection process was conducted in several stages. First, applications were reviewed to ensure compliance with formal requirements. After that, the selection committee evaluated their relevance, feasibility, and expected benefit for the community.
We thank all initiative groups for their important ideas. The active engagement of communities and their willingness to seek solutions to residents’ needs always leads to positive change.
We will continue sharing updates on the implementation of these projects on our pages.
