Inclusive Education Project Launches in 10 Schools in Zaporizhzhia Region with Support from Save the Children in Ukraine
An inclusive education project, “Inclusive Education and Individual Support for Children,” is launching in 10 schools in Zaporizhzhia Region with the support of Save the Children in Ukraine. Over the next 3.5 months, the team from the NGO Responsible Citizens will work with students with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as with the specialists who support them. This assistance is particularly timely, as Zaporizhzhia Region remains one of the most vulnerable in terms of educational needs.
Inclusive education in times of war requires resources and systematic support. Schools in conflict-affected regions often lack both the necessary equipment and sufficient methodological resources. That is why our team plans to provide schools with equipment for learning and development, individual learning kits for more than 500 students, as well as mentoring support for teachers, inclusion specialists, speech therapists, and special education professionals.
“We often speak about access to education as a right. But behind these words are real children who need a specific tool or a qualified specialist by their side. This project is about making that support real, not merely declarative,” said Enrique Menendez, Director of Projects and Programmes at the NGO Responsible Citizens.
