NGO “Responsible Citizens” became the winner in the nomination “Light of Knowledge: Charity in the Name of the Future” at the forum “Donetsk Region 2025: A Look into the Future.”
The forum became an important platform for strengthening dialogue between the state, local authorities, and the civic sector. Representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration emphasized that the development and resilience of the region during wartime are possible only through close cooperation with civil society organizations that stay close to people and continue working in communities despite security challenges.
Special attention was given to supporting residents of Donetsk region, including those who were forced to leave. Authorities highlighted the importance of maintaining connections with communities through a network of hubs and initiatives aimed at ensuring access to services, consultations, and information support.
The award for NGO “Responsible Citizens” is a recognition of the organization’s longstanding systematic work in the fields of education, social protection, humanitarian aid, and community development, as well as its contribution to preserving the human potential of the region.
“For our team, Donetsk region is the place where we grew as an organization, where we began our work, and where we continue implementing comprehensive multisectoral programs aimed at supporting people and strengthening communities. We are grateful for this recognition. It reflects the daily, consistent work of our specialists and partners who unite their efforts for the present and future of the region. For us, it is important to stay close to people and strengthen their resilience — regardless of circumstances,” commented Olga Kosse, Chair of the Board of NGO “Responsible Citizens.”
