Completion of training cycle for educators and social protection workers
After over eight months of intensive effort, a comprehensive training cycle consisting of 30 sessions has been successfully completed, with a total of 1,481 participants. These trainings were organized in partnership with UNICEF Ukraine, aiming to support and enhance the skills of professionals working with children in challenging life circumstances.
The training sessions covered a broad spectrum of topics, tailored for educators, social workers, psychologists, police officers, and child protection specialists. Key issues addressed included methodologies for assessing individual needs, strategies to combat professional burnout, and understanding the behavior and social adaptation of children raised in family-based care or those whose families are facing difficult situations. Special attention was given to the adaptation challenges of orphans and children deprived of parental care within family-based settings.
A central theme throughout the trainings was the constancy of basic human needs across all ages, while strategies to meet these needs evolve. Practical exercises were designed to help participants master these strategies, enhancing their understanding of how these needs can be met in various life circumstances.
Significant focus was placed on self-regulation techniques during conflict situations. The training incorporated non-confrontational communication technologies, negotiation techniques, and critical thinking skills for dealing with challenges in fulfilling personal needs.
“The training cycle has become a true source of energy for every participant, especially vital for professionals from frontline regions. They not only received deep theoretical knowledge supported by a regulatory framework but also had the opportunity for personal restoration, creating a supportive environment critical in their work. We observed that these trainings not only improved the participants’ professional competencies but also served as a catalyst for their personal development, which is crucial in our line of work. Our organization has built a strong community, ready to take action in support of every child. Following the successful completion of this training cycle, we will continue our collaboration with UNICEF, organizing new sessions. Our future focus will include addressing violence prevention and sexual education. We are grateful to all participants for their contribution and desire for self-improvement. Together, we can provide the necessary support to children in need,” stated Olga Kosse, Head of the Board at the NGO “Responsible Citizens.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their dedication and commitment to growth! Together, we are building a better future for children.
