Catch-Up classes launched
In partnership with the Government of the Faroe Islands, catch-up classes have been organized since September 2024 for children who have experienced educational losses due to the war and the pandemic. This project aims to help students catch up on the school curriculum in core subjects and provide them with the opportunity to successfully continue their education.
On September 9, classes began at Kryvyi Rih Gymnasiums No. 31 and No. 121. Children have the opportunity to attend additional classes in mathematics, physics, biology, history, English, and Ukrainian. The classes are tailored to each child’s individual needs and knowledge level, and are conducted in small groups, which allows for more effective learning.
“This project is aimed at preserving the educational potential of children who have been forced to evacuate, engage in remote learning for extended periods, change schools, etc. All this greatly impacts the quality of knowledge and the child’s future career opportunities. Given the challenges faced by the education sector, we highly value the support from the Government of the Faroe Islands, which has enabled us to organize such classes in the Dnipropetrovsk region by the end of 2024,” comments Olena Bielolipceva, Coordinator of Educational Programs at the NGO “Responsible Citizens.”
This project will cover children from grades 1 to 11, taking their needs into account.
