Denys Savchenko
"Break Murphy's Law – help people." This life motto has been time-tested for me, and now it is my guiding principle, my life’s motto, and my call to action.
I am a mechanical engineer by education, a researcher. I worked as a foreman at a ferroalloy plant. But when the war began, I immediately started volunteering. It was a completely natural response to the threats and circumstances that many people found themselves in.
I delivered aid to civilians, provided direct assistance to the elderly who were left alone, lived near the frontlines, had health problems, and generally could not leave their homes.
Since 2022, I’ve been working side by side with the "Responsible Citizens" NGO. Here, I found a team of brave, dedicated, and compassionate people whose values and priorities align with mine. Together, we have expanded our capabilities. In addition to providing humanitarian aid, I worked as an administrator in all the organization’s cash assistance projects.
I am convinced that there is a vast difference between a job and a calling. A job is something defined by numbers, metrics, profit, and expenses. But we, as a team, cherish every day we get to make a positive impact and improve people’s lives.
