Vita Serdyuk

I divide my life into "before" and "after." I experienced the horrors of war firsthand. This was the main reason I left the commercial sector and consciously transitioned into humanitarian work. There was a desire to be where I was needed and with those I believed in. I had seen "Responsible Citizens" in action. Being part of this team is about more than just work; it’s about the opportunity to do meaningful things with those who understand the value of every hour when it comes to helping people.

I know that the horrors of war change a person forever. But they also strengthen basic values. For me, that value is simply formulated: you should treat people as you want to be treated. In my 20 years of professional experience, this rule has never let me down. Throughout this long period, my work has been related to accounting and tax reporting, including three years as the chief accountant. I have worked in manufacturing organizations and financial institutions. In 2019, I received a grant for business development from the UN program. In 2021, I won a competition organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the Azov region and creating job opportunities for people. I also obtained a certificate for successfully completing the online course "How to Prevent 90% of Problems in Humanitarian Response" from the Eastern Europe Foundation.

I continue to learn every day, now side by side with the "Responsible Citizens" team.
