Liliya Pashchenko
My first work experience was as a secretary at the Kyiv District Council in Donetsk, where I began my career. In 2008, I transitioned to the Park of Culture and Recreation named after Shcherbakov in Donetsk. I know that many of my fellow countrymen still fondly remember this iconic place. Each person from the Donbas likely has personal memories tied to that park. There, I held positions as a personnel department inspector and later as an economist. I welcomed 2014 in Donetsk.
Social work has been an integral part of my life throughout these years. It started with small projects for residents in the town of Ukrainka in Donetsk Oblast, where I volunteered. We did everything possible to improve the difficult lives of people. After that, I spent several productive years collaborating with local authorities and social services in the town of Selydove in Donetsk region. I became a member of the public organization “Time for Development” and joined the Youth Council to advance community development projects and advocate for residents' interests. This was invaluable experience that helped me understand my calling in life and profession.
In the team of "Responsible Citizens," I found people with whom we work out of vocation. This brings a different attitude toward work, personal time, rest, and responsibility for the task at hand. Moreover, the entire team consists of incredibly courageous individuals who show me how to work when you’ve found your true calling in life.
