Purchase of winter children’s clothing by Turboweb
One of the biggest expenses for families with young children is buying clothing for the colder months. This became especially clear to us when we began accepting applications to provide direct assistance to families affected by the war. In the first month, we received over 12,000 requests, and a significant portion of them were for help with clothing.
Of course, we don’t have the funds to help everyone who applied, but we identified the families most in need and decided to start with them. Now, the first 38 families have received packages with children’s clothing.
Unlike most of our other projects, which are funded by international charitable organizations, in this case, the sponsor is a Ukrainian business – Turboweb, a company specializing in advertising and online promotion. The founders of Turboweb decided to donate a percentage of their profits to support our humanitarian work each month.
Here’s how this assistance works: our team reviews applications and contacts those that seem most urgent. Then, individuals can choose the clothing they need from our partner, Garnamama, an online store selling quality, locally made clothing in Ukraine. We allocate 1,500 UAH per family with one child and 2,500 UAH for families with two children. Garnamama receives the payment from us and sends the orders directly to the recipients. Importantly, the children receive items they personally selected—this isn’t impersonal, standardized clothing, as is often the case with humanitarian aid. We frequently receive warm words of gratitude from the families we assist, along with joyful smiles from the children.
By the end of the month, more than 100 families had received clothing, most of them displaced children from war-affected or occupied areas.
