Project: “Emergency response to meet the needs of children in de-occupied territories, іnternally displaced children and their families affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine through psychosocial support, non-food items, monitoring, and promotion of children’s rights”
The NGO “Responsible Citizens” together with partners, the International Charitable Foundation “Hope and Homes for Children” and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), implemented a joint project from October 21, 2022, to January 31, 2023.
This project covered the communities of Balakliia, Izium, Oskil, and Savyn in the Kharkiv region.
As part of the work, NGO “Responsible Citizens” created 5 mobile teams, consisting of a social worker, a psychologist, and a medical specialist. Three mobile teams served the Balakliia and Savyn communities, and two mobile teams served the Izium and Oskil communities.
During the project, the five mobile teams conducted 182 visits in total.
The specialists provided psychosocial support to 1,202 children (563 girls and 639 boys).
Sixty children held the status of internally displaced persons (IDPs), and 12 children had disabilities.
Case management services were provided to 183 children: 88 girls and 95 boys.
Of these cases, 14 children were IDPs, and two children had disabilities.
Additionally, 396 families with children received hygiene kits through the project. The total number of children in these families was 624: 330 boys and 294 girls.
