Help on the frontlines: what has been done to support those most affected
The NGO Responsible Citizens, together with our partners from the #UkrainianResponseConsortium, World Vision International, Acted, and USAID, organized the implementation of a project to provide financial assistance to those most affected by the war.
“Providing multi-purpose financial assistance was not only the most effective but also the most humane way to respond to the needs of people in the hotspots of Eastern Ukraine. This form of aid is flexible, allowing people to independently address their urgent needs and supports the local economy. Every hryvnia received by the residents is spent within their communities, strengthening local businesses and ensuring economic resilience during the crisis. Our mission is to ensure that those affected by the war are not left without support, by providing opportunities for recovery and development even in the most challenging times,” commented Enrique Menendez, co-founder and program director of the NGO Responsible Citizens.

How support helps Yulia and her children start a new lifeYulia and her four children were evacuated from the occupied city of Dniprorudne. The forced relocation changed everything— a new city, no job, and an uncertain future. "I mostly try to manage on my own," Yulia shares. She cannot leave her youngest child unattended, and kindergartens are not operating, making it impossible to return to work for now.
