Responsible Citizens Joins the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Group in the Eastern Hub
Practical experience from working with communities will now be represented on one of the key coordination platforms led by OCHA as part of the UN humanitarian architecture. The platform brings together international and national humanitarian organizations working in eastern Ukraine.
Alla Maslakhova, Project Coordinator at the NGO Responsible Citizens, has joined the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Group (HOCG), a sub-national coordination mechanism led by OCHA within the UN humanitarian architecture. The group brings together international and national humanitarian organizations working in eastern Ukraine.
Within the group, participants:
- analyze the situation and humanitarian needs across the regions;
- coordinate operational response priorities;
- exchange information on resources and challenges;
- seek practical solutions for field operations.
“For us, this is recognition of our expertise and, at the same time, a new level of responsibility. We work every day in frontline and conflict-affected communities, see their needs firsthand, and know which solutions work in practice. Participation in HOCG gives us an opportunity to bring this experience to the coordination level and contribute to shaping a more effective humanitarian response in the region,” said Alla Maslakhova, Project Coordinator at the NGO Responsible Citizens.
We will continue to stand alongside communities, listen to their needs, and turn practical experience into effective solutions.
