The “Responsible Citizens” team presented their educational projects at the UNITAR CIFAL Jeju International Workshop
Our educational initiatives became part of the discussion at the workshop “Education Without Borders: Shaping Quality Education for Refugees from Pre-Primary to Tertiary”. The event brought together international experts, government representatives, and members of the civil sector to seek solutions in the field of education during crises.
We shared our experience of reaching over 40 communities in just a year and a half, providing support to children, educators, and families despite the challenging circumstances of war. Participants’ attention was drawn to the critical challenges faced by Ukraine’s education system: a shortage of trained professionals, psychological pressure on teachers and students, and the need to adapt to new realities.
Enrique Menendez, Program Director of the NGO “Responsible Citizens,” emphasized:
“Education in Ukraine plays a critically important role in maintaining stability, strengthening social cohesion, and helping children and families adapt to modern challenges. Our experience demonstrates that even in the most difficult conditions, it is possible to organize quality education that serves as a pillar for recovery and development. The international recognition of our work confirms the effectiveness of our approaches and motivates us to create new solutions to overcome crisis situations.”
The presentation of the “Responsible Citizens” experience will be distributed by UNITAR among its international partners. We hope this will lead to new opportunities for collaboration. Our aspiration is to expand partnerships and develop educational models capable of responding to challenges of any scale.
