Team Management Intensives for Businesses in Frontline Communities Held in Sumy Region
In the Sumy region, a series of intensives titled “Team Management and Motivation” was delivered for representatives of businesses operating in frontline areas. The training took place as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the resilience of communities and local businesses — where managerial decisions today are no less critical than technical resources.
Together with participants, we worked through real-life management scenarios: how to rebuild trust within teams after prolonged stress, how to quickly restore coordination between departments, and how to respond when staff are exhausted while responsibilities continue to grow. Particular attention was given to non-financial motivation — not as a theoretical concept, but as a set of practical tools applicable in the current context.
For businesses operating in frontline communities, team cohesion is directly linked to the stability of day-to-day operations. When circumstances shift rapidly and unpredictably, the team becomes the primary point of support. “The internal strength of a team directly affects performance and service quality,” noted facilitator Vita Chmelenko of the NGO “Responsible Citizens”.
We see a clear and practical demand for this type of training and will continue working with teams committed to building resilience in action.
The project is implemented by the NGO “Responsible Citizens” in partnership with JERU – Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine, a joint initiative of Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide, with financial support from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
