Resilience Center in Zaporizhzhia: over 1,600 requests in six months of operation
For more than six months now, the Resilience Center in Zaporizhzhia has been operating as a safe space where city residents can receive psychological support, social assistance, and an opportunity to recover after stressful events. Since its opening, the Center’s specialists have received 1,667 requests from Zaporizhzhia residents seeking resources to overcome difficulties and maintain inner balance.
More than 600 people have participated in group activities, trainings, and consultations. Most often, people seek psychological help to cope with emotional exhaustion, learn self-help techniques, and improve family interactions.
During this time, the Center has held 308 psychosocial support activities. These include trainings under the Ministry of Health programs “Self-Help” and “Problem Management,” sessions on “Positive Parenting,” support groups, art therapy meetings, and a family club.
In October, the Center plans to expand its activities — to conduct a series of classes for teenagers called “Building a Positive Life Perspective in Times of Uncertainty,” new trainings under the “Positive Parenting” program, and information and awareness sessions in city schools.
The Resilience Center was opened with the support of UNICEF and funding from the Government of Germany through the development bank KfW. The Center was established in cooperation with local authorities and social services of the Department of Social Protection of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, and implemented by the NGO “Responsible Citizens.”
The Resilience Center is located in Zaporizhzhia at 3 Mala Street.
