Project Supporting Recently Displaced and Highly Vulnerable Internally Displaced Persons
Responsible Citizens is implementing a project supported by the humanitarian and human rights organization Medico International, aimed at supporting recently displaced and highly vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) in communities across Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
The project is designed for people who have been forced to leave their homes within the past six months and are going through the most challenging stage of adapting to their new place of residence.
Within the project, the Responsible Citizens team provides comprehensive support to internally displaced persons, including:
- Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services;
- individual protection case management;
- targeted humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable households.
Services are delivered through mobile teams of specialists, individual case support, and coordination with local social and humanitarian service providers. This approach enables the timely identification of people’s needs, ensures continuous support, and improves access to essential services at the community level.
A separate component of the project involves conducting needs assessments of internally displaced persons in Cherkasy and Kirovohrad oblasts. The findings are used to develop an evidence base for planning and improving humanitarian response programmes.
The project’s objective is to strengthen the psychosocial resilience of internally displaced persons, reduce their vulnerability, and support their successful integration into host communities.
