In Brussels, Head of the Board of NGO “Responsible Citizens,” Olga Kosse, participated in presenting the final proposals for Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction
The proposal package from civil society representatives is the result of over six months of research conducted by the Center for Social and Labor Relations, supported by the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund. This comprehensive effort brought together women actively engaged in public activities, working in social, humanitarian, or human rights fields, and holding leadership positions in local government bodies.
The process of developing the joint proposal document was based on a unified discussion platform in November 2023 and consisted of several rounds of discussions. These discussions covered a wide range of issues: barriers for women in the labor market, lack of support programs for women-owned businesses, social guarantees that do not match current realities, lack of psychological support, problems of violence, and more.
Now, the first significant result has been achieved. A common vision of women’s issues and the steps needed to address them has been consolidated into a single package of proposals. This package was presented in Brussels by a group of civil sector representatives to Ukraine’s foreign partners, members of the European government, and donor organizations.
“The goal of this extensive advocacy mission was to address crucial questions for society: what should the inclusive reconstruction of Ukraine look like post-war? Why is it important to listen to those who are often unheard and represent their societal interests? What strategy should we follow for a post-war future? Primarily, considering the spectrum of needs of women with different education levels, places of residence, family compositions, and ages,” comments Olga Kosse, Head of the Board of NGO “Responsible Citizens.”
