A cash assistance programme for war-affected families has been launched in three regions of Ukraine
The programme covers selected communities across these regions. As part of the response, the organisation’s team is registering households for the provision of humanitarian cash assistance.
The support targets families facing difficult circumstances due to the war, including:
- single-parent households (single mothers or fathers);
- female-headed households;
- families with three or more children;
- households with children under the age of two;
- families with members with Group I or II disabilities;
- elderly households, including single people aged 60+;
- families with members suffering from chronic or serious illnesses;
- households with a pregnant woman;
- families with persons with limited mobility;
- households with members injured or killed as a result of hostilities;
- families whose housing has been fully or partially destroyed.
The programme aims to reach 3,000 people.
Cash assistance is one of the key tools of humanitarian support, as it enables families to prioritise their most urgent needs independently — whether purchasing food and medicine, paying for housing, or covering other basic expenses.
A critical component of the programme is multi-stage verification, ensuring that households meet the defined vulnerability criteria and that humanitarian cash assistance is delivered in a responsible and accountable manner.
The implementation of this programme continues the systematic work of Responsible Citizens NGO in supporting people in regions that remain under constant impact of the war.
The humanitarian cash assistance programme implemented by Responsible Citizens NGO is carried out in partnership with Acted, as part of the Response Consortium, and is financially supported by the US Government.
