Youth at the Centre of Ukraine’s Recovery: A Discussion within the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026
Is Ukrainian youth ready to become a driving force behind the country’s recovery?
Today, young people in Ukraine are not only receiving support in times of war. They are creating initiatives, developing communities, implementing social, educational and cultural projects, taking responsibility for change, and shaping a vision for the future.
But are we creating enough opportunities for young people to become full participants in Ukraine’s recovery processes?
We will discuss this during the panel discussion within the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026: “From Aid Recipients to Change-Makers: Youth at the Centre of Ukraine’s Recovery”.
Together with representatives of government institutions, civil society, international and donor organisations, we will discuss:
- How can we move towards recognising youth as a driving force behind the recovery of communities and the country;
- What conditions are needed for young people, including internally displaced persons, to realise their potential and actively participate in community life;
- How can Ukrainian youth be given a real influence on decisions that determine Ukraine’s recovery.
Particular attention will be paid to practical experience of working with young people in frontline communities. During the discussion, real cases from Responsible Citizens NGO, youth support projects, and educational and cultural initiatives that help young people become agents of positive change in their communities will be presented.
