Taking part in strategic dialogue: How to improve support for those affected
The team of NGO “Responsible Citizens” participated in an event organized by Mercy Corps within the LIVES 3.0 program, supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The event brought together leading humanitarian organizations to discuss key challenges in protection, emergency assistance, and evacuation coordination from frontline areas.
Representatives of “Responsible Citizens” facilitated a panel discussion on multi-purpose cash assistance, sharing their work results, key achievements, and one of the successful cases of program implementation in the eastern regions of Ukraine. Within the LIVES 3.0 program, more than 13,000 people have received assistance in these areas.
During the event, participants exchanged experiences on improving the registration and verification processes for aid recipients, which significantly reduces waiting times and enhances the efficiency of support. Special attention was given to mobile teams operating in remote and frontline communities, ensuring access to financial aid even in the most challenging conditions.
Another crucial discussion point was the mechanisms for monitoring and feedback, enabling a rapid response to the needs of affected individuals. Participants addressed cooperation with financial institutions to simplify the aid distribution process through bank cards and partner branches, as well as the development of digital technologies and process automation.
“Collaboration with partners is a vital tool for improving our work, allowing us to exchange experiences and find innovative solutions for effective support of those affected. We focus not only on urgent response measures but also on creating long-term mechanisms that strengthen community resilience,” noted Olga Kosse, Chair of the Board of “Responsible Citizens.”
Since 2024, “Responsible Citizens” has been implementing a multi-component project, “Local, Inclusive, and Comprehensive Emergency Assistance for War-Affected Populations in Ukraine (LIVES) 3.0,” in partnership with Mercy Corps and with financial support from the UK government. Our organization has extensive experience in humanitarian project implementation and the introduction of innovations in social protection. We continue to work to ensure that assistance is as accessible as possible and meets the real needs of those affected.
