Project coordinator of Responsible Citizens joins Education in Emergencies technical working group
Olena Bieloliptseva, Coordinator of Education Projects at the NGO Responsible Citizens, has joined the Thematic Working Group on Education in Emergencies (EiE).
The technical group was established within the Sectoral Education Working Group (ESWG) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and serves as a key platform for coordinating the education sector’s response during the war. It is co-chaired by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a national civil society organization and an international humanitarian agency.
The EiE working group focuses on:
- analyzing and planning education needs in emergency contexts;
- integrating humanitarian action into national education strategies;
- coordinating with regional education departments, especially in frontline communities;
- monitoring access to learning and reporting via the Ministry’s “Educational Digest”;
- advocating for every child’s right to safe, quality education, with special attention to the most vulnerable groups.
Responsible Citizens’ participation in the EiE working group enables the NGO to help shape national strategies, incorporate the proven results of its education programmes into system-level coordination, and strengthen inter-sectoral cooperation.
“It is essential to us that our lessons and methods do not remain only local examples but become part of a national system. We bring the expertise of Responsible Citizens’ implemented education projects into the EiE technical group to share practical solutions with colleagues. This should contribute to joint efforts to preserve the education system during the war,” — said Olena Bieloliptseva, Coordinator of Education Projects, Responsible Citizens.
The group’s first meeting is scheduled for October.
