Project: “Ukraine Protection Consortium – Protecting Lives Through Comprehensive Multi-Sectoral Assistance (UPC-PRIMA) II”
The project is implemented in Kharkiv Region in partnership with Save the Children thanks to the generous support of the American people provided by the United States Government.
The goal of the project is to strengthen the protection and well-being of children and families affected by the war by providing comprehensive psychosocial and social support, as well as improving access to basic services in communities with increased vulnerability.
Short Description of the Project
The project provides multi-sectoral assistance to children and families through the operation of child-friendly spaces, as well as outreach formats of support in remote settlements. Activities are aimed at psychosocial support, individual support for families, and timely response to the needs of children.
Case managers provide support to families with children both during field visits and directly in Child-Friendly Spaces. Mobile teams carry out visits to communities and remote settlements where families have limited access to social and psychosocial services. If needed, other specialists, including a speech therapist, may join the case manager during field visits. In Child-Friendly Spaces, facilitators will regularly conduct developmental activities aimed at supporting the psychosocial well-being of children.
The project is implemented in the following communities of Kharkiv Region: Barvinkove, Berestyn, Zachepylivka, Malynivka, Pivdenne.
Within the initiative, more than 700 children attended safe spaces from January, where they received psychosocial support and participated in educational sessions and group activities.
The spaces provided an opportunity for children to stay in a safe environment, socialize, and receive support from specialists.
The project created conditions for regular engagement with children aimed at reducing stress levels and supporting their psycho-emotional well-being.
The project has been completed. The results achieved will be used in further efforts to support children in the communities.
