Project: Support for Vulnerable Households and Conflict-Affected Communities in Sumy Oblast
Period: August 1 – December 31, 2025
Location: Sumy Oblast
The project “Support for Vulnerable Households and Conflict-Affected Communities to Meet Basic Needs in Sumy Oblast” is implemented with the support of the consortium of non-profit organizations “Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine” (JERU).
Project Goal: To provide support to the most vulnerable population categories in need of urgent assistance to overcome the consequences of war and prepare for winter. The beneficiaries include:
• Families with children;
• People with disabilities;
• Elderly people;
• Internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Main Areas of Support within the Project:
• Multipurpose cash assistance — 2,000 individuals will receive financial support to cover basic needs.
• Cash assistance for winter preparedness — 710 households will receive resources to ensure warmth during the cold season.
• Information sessions on mental health — raising awareness, providing psychosocial support and protection, and sharing available services for adult program participants.
• Group and individual psychological consultations — for adults and children.
The project will help people most affected by the consequences of war in hard-to-reach areas of Sumy Oblast to overcome difficulties, prepare for the winter period, and access psychological and social support.
The NGO “Responsible Citizens” implements this project within the framework of a partnership with JERU, a joint initiative of international organizations Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
