Project “SOS Children. Emergency assistance program” completion summary
This project was implemented from July to December 2022 in partnership with the International Charity Foundation “SOS Children’s Villages in Ukraine” and covered communities in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.
The aim of this project was to provide humanitarian support to families with children in these regions. The assistance included food, hygiene, and medical kits, clothing, and school supplies.
During the six months of the “SOS Children. Emergency Assistance Program,” implemented by the NGO “Responsible Citizens” with the support of the “SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine” foundation from July to December 2022, we provided humanitarian support to 2,876 families with children.
The total distributed items included:
- 2,400 food kits
- 2,400 hygiene kits
- 504 medical kits
- 124 packages of children’s diapers
- 200 assistance kits based on individual needs (medicines, medical supplies, children’s clothing, school supplies)
Number of recipients: 2,876 families with children, totaling 10,491 individuals, including:
- Local families: 2,328
- Internally displaced families: 548
Main categories of recipients who received support:
- Single parents
- Foster families, family-type children’s homes, guardianship families, and patronage families
- Families with children temporarily placed by the decision of Child Protection Services
- Families with children in difficult life circumstances affected by the war
- Large families in challenging conditions
- Families with children with disabilities or special educational needs
- Children who lost parents or caregivers due to the war
- Families with children with chronic/severe illnesses
- Families where at least one parent has a disability
- Pregnant women
