Responsible Citizens team completes safety training on short-range drones
Humanitarian work in eastern Ukraine has long required not only professionalism but also new safety skills. Among them is understanding how short-range drones operate and how to respond when they appear nearby.
Members of the team of the NGO Responsible Citizens, within the framework of a partnership with Acted, completed an awareness training on such UAVs and countermeasures. The training combined the analysis of real attack scenarios, understanding the logic behind drone target selection, and practicing response algorithms.
The team learned how to identify potential risks, how to act while moving on foot or in a vehicle, and how to use digital electronic frequency analyzers that help detect drone activity.
The greatest value of the course was its practical component. The scenarios were as close to real-life situations as possible and helped participants clearly understand how to act in the first minutes, when every second matters.
The knowledge gained during the training will be shared with all team members. Ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers is another essential condition that allows assistance to people in frontline communities to continue.
The training was implemented by Safer Access.
