Critical support for frontline communities: highlights of our work under the BHA Project
The multi-sectoral humanitarian aid project has been essential in supporting frontline communities facing severe challenges due to the war. It covered the most vulnerable areas of Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where the humanitarian situation remained extremely dire. In these regions, our teams encountered numerous challenges, particularly related to safety, logistics, and access to people in need.
Despite heightened risks, we worked tirelessly to provide comprehensive assistance to those who needed it most. Our close collaboration with World Vision, ACTED, the Ukraine Response Consortium, and the support of USAID enabled us to achieve the project’s goals and, in some cases, exceed the planned assistance targets.
One of the key elements of our success was building strong partnerships with local communities and organizations, allowing us to maximize outreach and ensure effective coordination. Thanks to these combined efforts, we were able to assist 16,846 individuals, including:
✔️27.9% – children aged 0-17;
✔️30.6% – adults aged 18-48;
✔️41.5% – people aged 50+.
The implementation of this project marks an important step in supporting communities affected by the conflict. We are grateful to everyone who took part in this initiative and remain committed to continuing our efforts to support those in need.
This initiative is made possible with the support USAID Acted and #UkraineResponseConsortium
