The NGO Responsible Citizens, in partnership with the Zaporizhzhia Regional Center for Social Services, within the UNICEF Ukraine project, conducted training for representatives of social services from communities in the Zaporizhzhia region on the topic of creating and developing family-based care.

Despite constant shelling threats and a volatile security situation, eight mobile psychosocial support teams in Donetsk region provide daily assistance to children and their families. Specialists in psychology, speech therapy, and social work operate in communities where access to basic services is limited or entirely absent.

21% of participants in the cash assistance program are internally displaced persons who left occupied areas of the region.

Psychosocial support is provided as part of UNICEF’s project “Strengthening Community Capacity to Provide Core Protection and Resilience Services in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia Regions,” implemented by Responsible Citizens NGO with support from the Government of the United States of America.

In 2025, communities in Donetsk Region continued to live and work under conditions of constant danger and high psychological pressure. In this reality, Child-Friendly Spaces and mobile psychosocial support teams became important hubs of stability, helping children and adults cope with stress, trauma, and uncertainty.

This project is implemented by the NGO “Responsible Citizens” with the support of the UNICEF Country Office and in cooperation with the Zaporizhzhia City Center for Social Services.
