A working meeting between the UNICEF team and the NGO “Responsible Citizens” took place in Kramatorsk
During the visit, the Head of the UNICEF Ukraine Office, Munir Mammadzade, together with colleagues, visited a Child-Friendly Space implemented within the framework of a joint project with UNICEF, where they met with specialists of mobile teams. They shared urgent issues, spoke about the daily challenges, and the needs of families who remain in front-line communities.
Despite the difficult security situation in Donetsk region, UNICEF and the team of “Responsible Citizens” continue to support families with children within the project. Every month, the organization’s specialists provide more than 500 consultations — psychological, social, speech therapy, and legal. The number of requests increases with each wave of evacuation, as families require professional assistance and consistent support. UNICEF mobile teams operate in Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Novodonetske, and Druzhkivka communities, ensuring access to essential services.
It should be noted that since September 2023, nine Child-Friendly Spaces by UNICEF have been opened in the region, where families received comprehensive support and children had the opportunity to develop, communicate, and recover in a safe environment. Specialists worked in these Spaces, and long-term family support was provided in the format of case management.
Due to the deteriorating security situation, the activities of some Spaces have been temporarily suspended; however, support for families continues — through mobile teams and at the locations where families have relocated.
Together, we continue to work to ensure that every child receives the help they need — regardless of the circumstances.
The mobile teams operate within the UNICEF project “Strengthening the Capacity of Communities to Provide Essential Protection and Resilience Services in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions,” implemented by the NGO “Responsible Citizens” with the support of the Government of the United States of America.
