Project “SOS Children. Emergency assistance program” completed. Summary.
This project was implemented from July to December 2022 in partnership with the International Charitable Foundation “SOS Children’s Villages in Ukraine.” It covered communities in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.
The project aimed to provide humanitarian support to families with children in the specified regions. In particular, assistance was provided in the form of food, hygiene, and medical kits, clothing, and stationery.
Over the six months of the “SOS Children. Emergency Assistance Program,” implemented by the NGO “Responsible Citizens” with the support of the International Charitable Foundation “SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine,” from July to December 2022, we provided humanitarian support to 2,876 families with children.
A total of:
- 2,400 food kits
- 2,400 hygiene kits
- 504 medical kits
- 124 packs of children’s diapers
- 200 assistance packages according to individual needs (medications, medical supplies, children’s clothing, school stationery).
The number of recipients: 2,876 families with children, which includes 10,491 individuals, among them:
- Local families – 2,328
- Displaced families – 548
Main categories that received assistance:
- Single parents;
- Foster families, family-type children’s homes, guardianship families, and patronage families;
- Families with temporarily accommodated children (according to the decision of the Social Service);
- Families with children in difficult life circumstances affected by the war;
- Large families in difficult life circumstances;
- Families with children with disabilities and special educational needs;
- Children who have lost parents or guardians due to the war;
- Families with children with chronic/severe illnesses;
- Families in which at least one parent has a disability;
- Pregnant women.
