A new wave of assistance continues at the Pavlohrad transit center
NGO Responsible Citizens has been working in frontline regions for over ten years, supporting people affected by the war. We believe that cash assistance is one of the most flexible and effective ways to help, as participants best understand their own urgent needs.
Today, amid a new wave of evacuation from Donetsk region, we focus on helping evacuees at the Pavlohrad transit center. Here, people forced to leave their homes can find not only temporary shelter but also financial support.
Starting September 1, our team began registration for the cash assistance program.
The amount of assistance is 10,800 UAH per person.
Important: to participate, evacuees must first register their departure with the local authorities of the community they are leaving. Only then can they apply at the center.
Eligibility criteria:
- Households whose usual place of residence became uninhabitable due to hostilities within the last 30 days.
- Households displaced within the last 30 days from areas 16–30 km from active hostilities.
- Households displaced within the last 30 days from areas up to 15 km from active hostilities or from temporarily occupied territories.
Additional mandatory criterion:
- Total household income less than 6,318 UAH per person per month.
Vulnerability criteria include:
- Living in collective centers.
- Living in damaged housing or being homeless.
- Households with persons with disabilities (priority 2 if more than one).
- Households with 3 or more children under 18.
- Single-parent households with children under 18 (priority 2 if more than one).
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- Households hosting separated or unaccompanied children.
- Households with elderly people (60+).
- Households headed by a single elderly person (60+) or multiple elderly persons without other adults aged 18–59.
- Unemployed persons aged 50–59 without steady income.
- Households with members suffering from severe chronic illnesses.
This assistance is part of the project “Local, Inclusive and Multi-Sectoral Emergency Assistance to Conflict-Affected Population in Ukraine” implemented by Responsible Citizens in partnership with Mercy Corps Ukraine and funded by the UK Government.
We remain close to people on their evacuation journey, so that in these difficult times they feel supported and can meet their essential needs.

How support helps Yulia and her children start a new lifeYulia and her four children were evacuated from the occupied city of Dniprorudne.
