Children’s Happiness Day Celebrated in Pivdenne
In Pivdenne, Kharkiv region, even in difficult times, the community finds the strength to celebrate joy. During the City Day celebrations, we made sure that even the youngest residents felt cared for, valued, and protected.
“We gathered together — and it’s already a celebration! All my friends are here,” shares 6-year-old Yulia with excitement.
On this day, the team of the NGO “Responsible Citizens” ensured that every child felt important and safe. “Today we were allowed to invent a hero and become one!” exclaims 8-year-old Nazar, whose first experience with face painting brought his imagination to life.
Children enjoyed games, contests, chalk drawing on the pavement, and many small surprises. Behind these simple activities lies a bigger goal: to support children’s emotional well-being, give them a sense of security, and preserve their childhood, which the war tries to overshadow. Every chalk drawing, every sincere child’s smile, is proof that we are on the right path.
“This is not just a celebration, it’s a reminder of why we work every day,” the organizers note. We thank everyone who helped create this day filled with light and warmth. Together, we build an environment where childhood remains childhood, even in the hardest times.
